Dr. Donovan Argueta, Ph.D., is currently a postdoctoral scholar in the laboratory of Dr. Kalpna Gupta at the University of California, Irvine, and Dr. Argueta is a recipient of the University of California, President's postdoctoral fellowship. Dr. Argueta completed his doctorate at the University of California, Riverside, studying the role of the endogenous cannabinoid system in various disease states, which include obesity, helminth infection, and end state renal disease. Presently, Dr. Argueta works with Dr. Gupta to investigate novel roles for cannabinoids in sickle pathobiology, which includes the study of potential risks conferred by prenatal cannabinoid exposure in a preclinical model of Sickle Cell Disease.
