Kendall O'Daniel is a recent graduate with a B.S. in biomedical engineering and now works as a junior specialist researcher in the laboratory of Kalpna Gupta for the University of California, Irvine. She works in understanding how gait impairment in sickle mice correlates with hyperalgesia in sickle cell disease (SCD), both of which are major comorbidities of SCD. Her insights will help treat pain and related gait changes through therapeutic intervention. Currently, she is studying the effects of an endocannabinoid palmitoylethanolamide on pain related gait impairment in SCD.
