Julia O'Brien PhD, RN, Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, is a nurse scientist focusing on self-care and self-efficacy among patients living with chronic diseases. She completed her graduate training at Case Western Reserve University, and is currently completing a postdoctoral training program on the use of technology to support patients with chronic and critical illness. Dr. O'Brien is currently building a program of research focused on behavioral interventions to support patient-provider communication and self-care among patients with sickle cell disease.
