Ektha Parchuri, MPH is a Clinical Research Coordinator and an incoming medical student at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She has a strong interest in sickle cell advocacy within Emergency Medicine and Critical Care specialties and hopes to advance prehospital care guidelines and protocols for injured sickle cell patients. As an aspiring surgeon, Ektha hopes to intertwine medicine and service together to best serve the Pittsburgh community. Ektha is currently a Pittsburgh Schweitzer Fellow and is working with recently incarcerated and victims of gun violence to understand systems of inequity, power, and social determinants of health impacting access to care and quality of life.
