Dr. Patricia Oneal is an adult hematologist with a clinical and research interest in sickle cell disease. She attended medical school at the Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, IL and a fellowship in Hematology-Oncology at the National Insitutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. Her clinical research is focused on fetal hemoglobin and chronic complications associated with sickle cell disease like renal complications and coagulation activation in sickle cell disease. She was the Clinical Director of the Center of Sickle Cell Disease at Howard University in Washington, DC and is presently a Medical Officer in the Divison of Non-Malignant Hematology (DNH) in the Office of Cardiology, Hematology, Endocrinology and Nephrology (OCHEN) at the Food and Drug Administration in Silver Spring, MD.
