Susan P. Perrine MD, SM (Public Health), MMS is Professor of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, Pediatrics, Medicine, Boston University Choabanian and Avedissian School of Medicine, and Chief Medical Officer, Phoenicia BioSciences, and Associate Medical Director, FSCDR.
Dr. Perrine has directed academic programs in a Hemoglobinopathy Thalassemia Research Unit and a Program in Hemoglobin Reserach in Minorities, conducting discovery research and clinical translation of therapies for sickle cell disease/ thalassemia and viral associated mlaignanices.
As Founder, CSO, VP in 3 biotechnology companies, she obtained 5 new INDs and conducted international clinical trials.
She currently directs a clinical trial on a potential therapeutic developed with NCATS-TRND, supported by NHLBI, and consults on new therapies and programs with the FSCDR and other entities.
A clinical interest is to facilitate care for children, teens, and young adults, and in translating care and new therapies for families.
