Jessica has served as Nurse Case Manager for the UCSDH Sickle Cell Team since 2018. Growing the Sickle Cell clinic under the direction of Dr. Srila Gopal has been a source of great pride in her nursing practice, and deeply resonates with her values of increasing access to quality care for historically underserved patients. In 2022, her work providing education to oncology nurses on treating sickle cell pain in the infusion center setting was recognized: she was named as Finalist for UCSDH Ambulatory Nurse of the Year--Structural Empowerment. In 2021, Jessica served as President of the San Diego Chapter of Oncology Nursing Society (ONS). Prior to returning to her hometown of San Diego, Jessica practiced as a Bone Marrow Transplant nurse at Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. Jessica earned her BSN at University of Pennsylvania and her BA at Vanderbilt University in Anthropology/Medicine, Health and Society. In her free time, Jessica enjoys hiking, reading and spending time with her family.
