Steven Hardy Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and the Director of Psychology and Patient Care Services in the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children's National Hospital in Washington, D.C. He is also an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Hardy provides clinical services as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Divisions of Hematology, Oncology, and Blood and Marrow Transplantation to ensure that patients and families receive comprehensive care. He is involved in clinical and research training of psychology graduate students and fellows as well as medical students. His research focuses on developing novel approaches to assessing, preventing, and treating neurocognitive difficulties in sickle cell disease and improving quality of life. Dr. Hardy's research has been funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and the Children's National Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
