Justina G. Williams, MSW (she/her/hers)

Justina Williams is a 30-year-old woman with Sickle Cell Disease (SS). Justina is a Patient Engagement Coordinator with Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency. She works with children, adults, and their families using a holistic approach tailored to the unique needs of each individual living with sickle cell. She focuses on the well-being of the clients and families with an emphasis on the health of their Mind Body and Spirit. Justina graduated with honors from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University receiving a Bachelor of Social Work. Justina continued her training at Johnson C. Smith University with her Master of Social Work, receiving the Field Student of the Year accolade. Justina has over 8 years of experience in a variety of settings and with diverse clients, including both long-term and brief interventions. Justina’s interests include global Sickle Cell research, rare and ultra-rare disease research, transitioning from pediatrics to adult clinics, and aging with Sickle Cell. Justina has held national and international conferences to promote new conversation around transition for patients with Sickle Cell. Justina believes that change happens when people are given the guidance, they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential to live fulfilling, happy lives. Justina provides an environment of compassion and support to help individuals and families overcome obstacles to move forward and thrive.
