Cecelia Valrie, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology, Health Psychology Program at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). She is also the director of the VCU Health and Development Lab and Chair of the Culture, Race, and Health Transdisciplinary Core of the VCU Institute for Inclusion, Inquiry, and Innovation. Her research interests include improving the health outcomes of people living with sickle cell disease and Black youth, with a focus on understanding and addressing persistent pain, sleep problems, and health inequities.
