To identify changes in the cardiac structure and function that occur in children with sickle cell disease
Explore potential etiological factors contributing to the cardiac injury in sickle cell disease. Identify knowledge gaps in the screening and diagnosis of sickle cardiomyopathy
To describe the effects of sickle cell disease modifying therapy and cardiac -selective therapy (beta blockers and angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors /angiotensin receptor blockers) on the cardiac function in people with sickle cell disease.
